| Fresh black andesite-dacite, aphyric. Vesicular with abundant (>20%) very small (<1 mm) vesicles. Well developed glass crust up to 5 mm thick encrusts these small pillows. Glass often forms large plates and is ropey textured. Locally weak Fe-staining below glass crust. A few large internal voids (2-3 cm across). |
