Contents | Top (m) | Base (m) |
---|---|---|
Black waxy-glassy aphyric rock with grey interiors. Vesicle average size ~5 mm, but highly stretched. Glassy all the way through. Black exterior to grey interior. Dominant type in dredge. Some Fe-stains in vesicles and at base of glass. | ||
Aphyric lava with hackly glass top and vesicular black interiors. Interior sometimes has 1 cm-thick massive zone before becoming vesicular. A few large vesicles. Some minor Fe-staining at base of the glassy layers (not always present). | ||
As for 45-01, but without the grey interior. Very glassy exterior. Similar to 45-03. | ||
Dark grey with little glass and thin coating of Mn oxide. Morphologically similar to 45-01 without the glass. | ||
Cobbles of black glass. Glass all the way through. May be the same as 46-01 without the grey. Aphyric. |
