| Black aphyric lava, andesite(?). Well developed glass crust on pillows up to 3 mm thick. Vesicular, with (i) 5% large and often elongate vesicles, and (ii) numerous small vesicles. Locally weak Fe-staining just below the glass crust. Fresh. | ||
| As for 45-01, but less vesicular (far fewer small vesicles) and characterised by yellow-orange Fe-staining below the glass crust. | ||
| White aphyric pumice with weak devitrification banding to dark grey shades. Weakly weathered. | ||
| Fresh black glassy lava, aphyric, andesite(?), grades to a weakly vesicular (tiny vesicles) core. Thick glass crust. | ||
