Contents | Top (m) | Base (m) |
---|---|---|
Medium grey feldspar-bearing chlorite-sericite altered rock, strongly magnetic (magnetite-bearing) with chlorite veinlets. Microcrystalline groundmass; almost holocrystalline. | ||
Strongly vesicular feldspar-pyroxene phyric basalt-basaltic andesite with Fe-oxide coating and rare Fe-oxide vesicle fill. Magnetite-bearing. | ||
Non-vesicular, much finer grained, plagioclase-pyroxene bearing basalt-basaltic andesite with Fe-oxide stained devitrified glassy rind. Non magnetic. | ||
Grey densely plagioclase-phyric lava. Two generations of vesicles, with some small and evenly distributed and others large and irregular. | ||
Sparsely to moderately plagioclase phyric lava with no vesicles. Dark orange altered glass. Probably the same as 17-03. | ||
Very dark, moderately plagioclase-phyric lava. Has a moderate vesicularity with medium-sized vesicles that are elongated towards the cooling surface. Weathered brown-orange glass. | ||
Highly vesicular ?frothy? block. Sparsely plagioclase-phyric. Quench surface. | ||
Large pillow with buff weathered glass. Densely plagioclase-phyric, with plagioclase to 3 mm across. Non vesicular with dark interior. |
