Completeness and Data Quality:

Navigation data (latitude and longitude, speed over ground and course over ground), thermosalinograph (salinity and water temperature) and sea surface temperature data were evaluated and quality controlled. The data acquisition computer trailed GPS time by 380 seconds at the start of the voyage and 389 seconds at the end of the voyage. Because of the way time is stored in the NetCDF underway data file it was only possible to correct times by the mean offset of 350 seconds. This resulted in a maximum error of 5 seconds at the beginning and end of the voyage. If more accurate times are required the data will need to be reprocessed for the specific data segment concerned.
