Bongo Nets - Search for deployments and/or events
Description
The Bongo net system consists of two rings (600mm diameter each) connected via a central axle. The net rings are
free to move and face into the current, independent from the towing wire. The net is towed at up to 3 knots with
335-micron mesh and 4 knots with 500-micron mesh. A mechanical flowmeter is fitted to one ring. Total sample
volume is 0.565m^2.
Purpose
A very fine tubular mesh net that is to sample plankton.
