Kongsberg EM710-MK2 multibeam echo sounder (40kHz - 100kHz) - Search for deployments and/or events
Description
It operates in frequencies ranging from 40-100kHz. It works best in depths down to 600-700m although can be used to approx. 1500m. For depths greater than these the EM122 is utilised. This system is permanently mounted on the ships Gondola. Continuous mapping is carried out by vessel regardless of science objectives unless interference occurs. If selected this system may interfere with other selected acoustic instruments.
Purpose
The EM710-MK2 MBES is utilised for high resolution seabed mapping on the continental shelf.
