Taxon Notes:

Until recently, the Indian Ocean bottlenose dolphin T. aduncus was included in this taxon. At least some populations of Australian bottlenose dolphins (but maybe not all) should now be referred to the latter species (see CAAB taxon report for T. aduncus).
