Expected species depth range is from 1080 to 1350 m.
Taxon Notes:Added based on CSIRO & NMV specimens collected from SW of Christmas Island in 1080-1350m depth. Agne et al 2022 reported that Etmopterus benchleyi was a synonym of E. litvinovi. The GN4952 sample in Agne et al 2022 from the Indian Ocean is a CSIRO specimen from SW of Christmas Island (11 22 S, 104 57 E), not Indonesia as listed in the supplementary material. Also known from the Eastern Pacific in 630-1443m depth.
