Members of this genus were previously placed in the Atlantic/Boreal Pacific genus Pseudopallene, and then into Meridionale (see Staples, 2014). The latter is now regarded as a synonym of older name Pallenella (see Brenneis et al, 2020). This code is provided for use when identification of a specimen to this level is sufficient, or when no further detail is available.
