|Scientific Name Notes:||Originally a single family, it has been split into several distinct families by some recent authors. There is still some uncertainty about the status of some groups within the Majidae sensu lato, and the current classification is likely to be altered with more research. The classification adopted here follows Ng et al, 2008 and WoRMS.|
