- This species was originally described from the Red Sea, and both Hartmann (1978) and Howe & MacKenzie (1989) express doubts that the NW Australian material is conspecific. It needs to be re-examined to determine is true identity. WoRMS list this species as "unaccepted" in this genus but do not give an alternative. We retain it here pending further work.
