Taxon Notes:	The generic placement of this subspecies, and the nominate subspecies, was questioned by Pastorino (2016) who regarded both as not belonging in the genus Meteuthria, but did not provide an alternative. Here, we follow WoRMS in retaining this taxon in Meteuthria pending clarification.
