| Taxon Notes: | This species has a black operculum and is found in southern Australia. Animals from southeastern Australia and New Zealand with tan opercula that were previously included in this species have recently been shown to be a closely related but different species, Nerita melanotragus - see Spencer et al, 2007. Nerita atramentosa is not found in New Zealand. | ||||
