Taxon Notes:Lamprell & Whitehead (1992) illustrated a specimen supposedly from the Great Barrier Reef as Laevicardium multipunctatum - this specimen is actually the Caribbean species L. serratum, and the locality is obviously in error. True L. multipunctatum is currently known from the Philippines to China, and is not presently regarded as part of the Australian fauna. See Huber (2010).
