Taxon Notes:

This species, originally described from Japan, has been recorded from Australia and New Zealand, but it is highly likely that it does not occur in this region as material originally identified as T. deformis that was examined by Sarà & Sarà (2004) was all actually other species. Here we follow those authors as regarding T. deformis as restricted to the Japanese region pending a more detailed review.
