Taxon Notes:

Kelly & Rowden (2019) note that this species shows more affinities to the genus Protosuberites than to Pseudosuberites as currently understood, and its' position requires clarification. This species was originally described from Patagonia, and this material shows differences to specimens from New Zealand and Australian waters that have been identified as this species. The position of the Australian and New Zealand material requires clarification. See Kelly & Rowden (2019).
