Regional NOAA AVHRR weather images

This is a free service designed for those of you with an interest in current weather conditions in the region covered by NOAA AVHRR data received at this facility. The images are automatically created, and are usually available within 45 minutes of receipt of the raw data. Images are updated if more recent data is available.

AVHRR data used for making the images comes from channel 4 brightness temperature. Thermal images show coldest pixels whitest. Thermal data is windowed between -45 and 26.5 degrees Celsius. Images for the larger regions are subsampled.

If the free images below do not meet your requirements and you need specialised cloud-top imagery, you will be expected to pay either individually or as a group for a customized service. For information on our charging policy, please refer to http://www.cmar.csiro.au/remotesensing/sst-form.html#COMM_INFO.
