Data Formats for Students and Researchers Marine and Atmospheric Research Remote Sensing Facility

The following table lists our standard data formats. If you require some other format, contact us to determine whether we can supply that format.

Images	Images are in GIF format. Other image formats are possible. Contact us for more information. Our GIF images are produced in a manner that preserves the underlying data for NOAA AVHRR SST. Other image formats like JPEG do not have this property. We are also able to supply image viewer software that enables you to get temperature and location information from the image, as well as adjusting the colours dynamically.
Datafiles	We supply datasets in DISIMP format. This is a fairly simple datafile format, and we supply documentation to help you to work with this format or import it into other packages.
Textfiles	Typically, only our "Timeseries" product is produced as a text file. This product gives point readings of SST readings over time. The readings are filtered medians over various time periods.
