Description: Cruise FR 07/88 (also known as CIDARIS II) was undertaken to study deep bottom fauna of the Barrier Reef Shelf and adjacent Coral Sea. This cruise is the follow up of FR 03/86 and corresponds to leg 2 of the original proposal submitted in 1985 to the National Facility Steering Committee. Twenty five stations were sampled at depths ranging between 400 m and 4000 m. Survey methods included grabs, dredges, sledges, beam trawls and underway instrumentation. Preliminary sorting of fauna and sediment samples conducted on board and taken back for laboratory study.
