In Australia, only recorded from a few specimens from NW of Cape Leveque (14 36.89 S, 121 19.65 E) to West of Low Point (22 0.40 S, 113 43.72 E), WA in 550-790 m depth. Elsewhere, the species is widespread in the Indo-West Pacific. Nielsen (2009), in an addendum noted: \"...an additional <i>Luciobrotula</i> specimen is the first record of the genus from Australian waters:\r\n<i>Luciobrotula bartschi</i>, H 6593-01, 126 mm SL, northwest of Cape Leveque, Western Australia, 14°36’S, 121°19’E, cruise SS0507, st. 147, bottom trawl, 698-705 m, 2 July 2007.\"","habitat":"Slope Demersal (200-2000m)<br>","NameVerifiedSource":"Nielsen, J.G., 2009.
