Whale sharks: Hope Traveller

Last Updated: April 2002

The Room 5, Year 3 students at Exmouth District High School explained their selection of Hope Traveller as the name of the tagged whale shark.

"We would call this whale shark Hope Traveller because we would like to think if people focus on its travels they may be able to better understand the need for environmental care and stop the killing of these wonderful, large creatures and sea animals like whales. In this way there may be hope on earth for all living creatures and our environment."
