PAT tag

PAT tags combine the technologies of archival and satellite tags. They are archival tags in a special housing that includes a programmable release and an ARGOS transmitter.

After release the PAT tag floats to the surface and transmits a summary of its collected data via the ARGOS network to the CMAR scientists.

PAT tags typically are programmed to release up to six months after being attached. Additional data can be downloaded from these tags if they are retrieved.
