Global Implementation of Coastal GOOS: The Good, Bad and the Ugly
CSIRO is pleased to host a seminar by Professor Tom Malone from the Horn Point Laboratory at the University of Maryland. ). His science is centred on the dynamics of marine ecosystems; phytoplankton ecology and coastal eutrophication. Tom has a great deal of experience in the area of coastal observing systems. For this reason his visit to Australia is sponsored by IMOS. He is currently a member of the GOOS Panel for Integrated Coastal Observations (PICO His other activities include ASLO, President-Elect, President, Past-President (1996-2002); Chair, Coastal GOOS Panel, 1997-2000 (IOC, WMO, UNEP and ICSU): Chair, Coastal Ocean Observations Panel, 2000 - present (IOC, WMO, UNEP and ICSU); Co-Chair, U.S. GOOS Steering Committee 1997-present (NOAA, ONR, NSF, NASA, EPA) and a range of other State, National and International roles in biological oceanography.
