Terrain Parameters in Regional Soil Erosion Assessment
The talk will discuss the research being carried out in Yangling on terrain in Regional Soil Erosion Assessment. Yangling is where the Institute of Water and Soil Conservation is located and it is on the edge of the extensive Chinese Loess Plateau. There are five parts to the report:
- Why are we interested in terrain factors in soil erosion assessment?
- Building useful DEMs
- The calculation of terrain parameters
- Scaling effects and their measuremen
- Slope downscaling or obtaining information from coarsely scaled data
