- The Climate Change Response Programme at the GBRMPA is developing new thermal stress indices by correlating bleaching response severity to high-resolution SST data at survey sites monitored during summer bleaching periods.
- The Climate Change Response Programme, CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research and the Centre for Marine Studies at the University of Queensland are collaborating on creating a combined bleaching risk index. Sensitivity analyses are being used to differentiate between the predictive capacities of each of the thermal stress indices used in ReefTemp.
- The Climate Change Response Programme and the POAMA group at the Bureau of Meteorology are collaborating on creating seasonal and inter-seasonal forecasts of anomalous SST in the Great Barrier Reef.
- The Climate Change Response Programme, CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research and the POAMA group at Bureau of Meteorology are working on a collaborative project to improve our ability to provide inter-seasonal forecasts of the climate conditions conducive to mass-bleaching events.
