Data Source, Processing and Quality Control Information
Data source: original field data
Data processing and quality control: according to current CMR Data Centre CTD data processing manual.
The dissloved oxygen sensor data was calibrated using bottle data collected on the voyage and software written by Lindsay Pender ("procDO" version 1, June 1999). The bottle data, CTD salinity and temperature data had been processed for this voyage and this calibration was applied to the resulting binned data.

Completeness
Dataset complete.
Noisy temperature and salinity data above about 1000m which got worse towards the end of the voyage. However, hydrology salinity and CTD salinity compare well. Station 16 has data missing below about 3000m due to the large amount of noise in the data above this point and the need to save as much data as possible.
The oxygen sensor data was regressed as three groups because of the change of CTD units. Groups 2 and 3 (stations 1-5 and 8-93) are of acceptable quality but the fit for group 1, stations 6 and 7 where CTD unit 8 was used is unacceptable.
For full details, refer to voyage summary and/or processing report.
