This float was located in the Southern Ocean in an area bounded by 144 to 167 ºE and 48 to 55 º S. There are 22 profiles available for DMQC for this float.

There were no inversions.
Salt hooks were located in profiles; 1,2,3,5,8,10,11,13,42,44,48,51,52,53,54,55,56,57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66. These were flagged as QC 4 for both T & S.
The float grounded on multiple profiles. Profile 7 has a huge temperature spike (see sig plot), flagged as 4. There were no missing profiles. Bad bottom values where the float grounded were QC'd as 4.

The four plots below show the salinity anomalies on theta surfaces compared to (a) the Gouretski and Kolterman climatology, (b) the CARS (CSIRO Atlas of Regional Seas)/WOA (World Ocean Atlas) climatology, (c) the anomalies within the float series itself, (i.e. the salinity anomaly of each profile from the mean profile average for the float and (d) the raw float salinity compared to the CARS and G&K climatological salinity on a deep theta surface.
The float is in a region with strong frontal gradients as evident by the float crossing a front multiple times between profiles 70 and 80. Float looks fine.

High variability region, float is in the middle of the nearby envelope.
This float required no salinity drift correction.
